Pop Sustainability Interprets Popular Vision
For a Sustainable Future at Art Benefit

Art event hosted by Pop Sustainability and Fine Arts International Management launches art work's contribution to a national awareness campaign for US Partnership of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development

June 30, 2004 , New York , NY – Bridging modern art, younger audiences and awareness of sustainable lifestyles, Pop Sustainability partnered with Fine Arts International Management (FAIM) to throw an art benefit for the US Partnership of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

The event served to unveil a new work by Kip Frace who was recently designated an official artist of the U. S. Partnership. The spectacular twenty foot piece entitled “Evolution” is now officially for sale. Limited edition fine art prints and price-conscious posters promote the mission of the UN Decade by not only raising awareness but also providing a unique source of revenue.

The evening showcased a wide range of talented artists' works for reasonable prices. The talented young R&B artist Ihsan wooed guests with her luscious lyri cs and upbeat sound. In the background, a video crew captured the undertone of conversation about the viewpoints of attendees on the issue sustainability. Noshing on fine organic hors d'oeuvres and wine, guests got a mouthful of the evening's message.

Pop Sustainability's focus on young adults, popular culture and sustainability inspired this eclectic but surprisingly natural combination for the benefit event. “The UN Decade is creating a call to action for the global movement towards awareness and action for sustainability,” explains Pop Sustainability's Executive Director, Kimberly Heismann. “It is a great honor for Pop Sustainability to accept that call and to make a unique contribution in the best way we know how: a melting pot of dynamic people, contemporary art and urban culture.”

The UNESCO-sponsored UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development begins in January 2005 and goes through December of 2014. The UN Decade's purpose is to spur on programs that promote local, national and global awareness of the goals of sustainable development. The US Partnership is our national community-building convener, catalyst and communicator (www.uscdesd.org ).
