Pop Sustainability Launches Popzine
Hub for Pop Culture with a Message Goes Global With a Web-based Magazine

NEW YORK, NY March 1, 2004 – Pop Sustainability, whose mission is to sell young adults on sustainability by communicating in popular culture terms, today announced the launch of PopZine. This Internet magazine is devoted to inspiring its audience to positive action by linking compelling new ideas and entertainment. PopZine is delivered monthly to email inboxes everywhere and is free to subscribers by registering at www.popsustainability.org.

The six-year old non-profit organization defines "sustainability" as balancing social, economic and environmental well being in order to create a healthier world into the long-term future. Through the lens of popular culture—film, fashion, music, and art, to name a few—PopZine inspires individuals to get involved in a variety of issues impacting their world. This dynamic and interactive approach has been well received amongst Pop Sustainability's target audience of 17-35 year olds.

Says Pop Sustainability's Founder and Executive Director, “Feeding the global hunger for real stories and mixing fun with the ultimate cause i.e. the future of planet earth, this exciting new magazine could prove to be an explosive combination!” She asserts that young adults are starting to catch on to the concept of sustainability, but there's much more room for translation into cultural terms and daily practices. The bigger goal, she says, is to catalyze a new ethic that drives the demand in this direction.
